We were surprised to get home today and find that our back bedroom window (looking out over the garden) had gone and the opening was bricked up. It was all in the plan, and it’s fine because there is a large window at the other end of the bedroom, it’s just that we hadn’t realised it would be happening today. Most of the original house was just one room deep – that’s what made it so easy to extend.
We found the windows outside here -leaning against the shed. That’s appropriate because they are going off to be used as the windows for somebody else’s shed. Far better than going off to landfill and although they are 15 years old they are in pretty good condition and should still have a lot of useful life left.
Re-use is better than recycling!
