I’ve just bought a second-hand wooden door on ebay for just £12.50. It’s slightly narrower than a normal door and so just the right size for our little ensuite loo.
It’s described as a “Solid Pine 6 Panel Door” and being narrow, it should fit into our hatchback car, meaning we don’t have to pay out for delivery.
The more pressing problem at the moment though is to find doors for the two upstairs bedrooms. They need to match each other (because they’re right next to each other) and hopefully not look too different from the other doors on the upstairs landing.
We really want to spread out into these rooms as things are getting very squashed and the children are finding it difficult sharing a room.
This is the downside to buying second-hand – you have to wait for somebody to be getting rid of exactly the right thing that you need, at the right time and in the right place (or not too far).
