We are an ordinary family – trying to make our suburban semi into a sustainable home in a way that is affordable.
We hope that you can find inspiration here to make your own home more environmentally friendly.
In this blog I aim to describe what we have done, why we did it, what worked and (perhaps most importantly) what didn’t work and what we wished we had done differently.
I will also be documenting the process of having an extension built. So it should be useful for anyone setting out on the same journey.
One of the main ways we made it affordable is by using second-hand items where possible for everything including the kitchen sink (and the bathroom sink, and utility room sink, and the other three sinks…). We sourced most of these from ebay (which explains the title of the blog) but found some other sites useful too.
