One of the most useful functions when searching ebay for large items is being able to search by distance – put in your postcode and change the “Sort” order of the search by “Nearest first” in the drop-down list near the top right of the page.
Alternatively, use the “Item location:” selection from the left hand column of the page. Add your postcode and then the distance that you are prepared to travel. Combine this with a search on the item you are looking for.
If the things that come up are too expensive you need to find out whether it’s you or the seller that is being unrealistic about price. Click the box for “Show only completed listings” to see what prices things have sold for previously.
If nothing comes up then you can save the search and ask ebay to email you each time an item is added that matches your search.
